Mississippi State: Deja vu all over again!

Mississippi State unveiled its new Adidas football uniforms today and they look great.  They look so great, in fact, that it’s almost as if I have seen them somewhere before.

Do you really believe there is another team in the SEC with the same colors and design as Mississippi State’s?

Take a look at what Texas A&M unveiled a few weeks ago and decide for yourself.

Sara Lampe criticizes Gary Pinkel for no apparent reason

by Travis Normand

By now I am sure you have read about Sara Lampe, the Missouri politician that has attempted to use Gary Pinkel to further her political aspirations of winning her parties nomination for Lt. Governor (the primary is set for August 7).  While Lampe has said that her critical statements of Pinkel have nothing to do with the fact that she is running for public office, can anyone really believe her?  Only the most sycophantic of Lampe worshippers would.

Lampe is criticizing Pinkel for saying some positive things about a friend and man he knew professionally.  Does this mean her message is that despite any potential wrong-doings, not even a friend can be supportive of another?  Seems a little harsh.

Kevin Steele to join LSU staff

by Travis Normand

Did Les Miles and LSU not watch the 2012 Orange Bowl between West Virginia and Clemson?

Apparently former Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, who was fired after the 70-33 loss to WVU, is being hired by LSU and will join the football staff in an administrative capacity.

Of course, I am not sure what he will be “administrating” and I can only hope it doesn’t involve the LSU defense.  After all, a 70-33 beat-down on national TV is not exactly the best ringing endorsement of ones capabilities as a defensive coordinator.

Before taking the DC job at Clemson, Steele was the head coach at Baylor (1999-2002) where he compiled a conference record of 1-31 and an overall record of 9-36.

For LSU’s sake, I hope Steele is a good coach who has just had some bad material to work with.  I guess we will see.
