In response to MLB Commissioner Bowie Kuhn giving the returning Iranian hostages lifetime baseball passes; Beano Cook asked, “Haven’t they suffered enough?”

I hate writing this.
I have enjoyed creating this site (OnePointSafety.com) and I really enjoy posting random college football news and commentary for others to read. However, for the first time I can say that I hate posting to this blog. Why? Because one of my college football heroes has passed away.
Carroll Hoff “Beano” Cook died Wednesday evening (10 October 2012) at the age of 81.
It appears as if the Big 12 referees were once again determined to help the Longhorns win their football game as UT is spotted a second touchdown in as many weeks/games.
The Longhorns (and refs) were not able to win their game against the West Virginia Mountaineers on 6 October 2012. However, the refs held up their end of the bargain and spotted the Longhorns another touchdown despite neither the ball, nor the player, crossing the goal line.
[The “touchdown” occurs at the :25 second mark in the above video, and is followed by a slow-motion replay. You can see that neither Jackson Jeffcoat, nor the football, cross the goal line.]
Today, October 4, 2012, OnePointSafety.com received its 200th “Like.”
As always, I am excited and encouraged. “Thanks” to anyone and everyone who has taken the time to “like” any of the posts or pages here at OnePointSafety.com.
While reading a recent copy of Sports Illustrated, I learned about the sport of Sprint Football. This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. After I a quick Google search, I found that the Collegiate Sprint Football League (or CSFL) has a website that explains everything. I recommend checking it out.
Last Saturday night, Cincinnati was trailing Virginia Tech by a score of 20-24, and then on third-and-ten, with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the upset happened!
Upon scoring the go-ahead touchdown, the crowd and ESPN announcers, go wild! Yes, the excitement of watching a thrilling last second victory must have been why we didn’t get an explanation on Saturday night.
The last thing I want to do is “pile on” to the criticism that has been hurled at Coach John L. Smith. However, in terms of empathy, Coach Smith is notorious for not doing himself any favors.
If you are not familiar with the soap opera that is the Arkansas football program you will have to take it upon yourself to get caught up. Why? Because like any soap opera, the story has been going on for so long that I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
