by Travis Normand

Chris Huston runs HeismanPundit.com and writes for CBSSports.com.  His weekly Heisman Straw Poll shows Kansas State’s QB Collin Klein holding a rather commanding lead in the Heisman voting.  While a lot can still happen between now and December, the chances of Kansas State bringing home a Heisman Trophy is looking more and more like a real possibility.

The interview is only about 16:30 minutes long and is worth the listen.

However, if you don’t have time to listen to the whole thing, there are some notes from the conversation posted at TexAgs.com as well.

The ESPN / LHN conspiracy continues

by Travis Normand

This is about a week late, but I just saw it for the first time yesterday.  Clay Travis (OutKickTheCoverage.com) posted an interesting article concerning ESPN’s decision to air the Texas A&M – LSU game at 11 am central.  Travis claims, and provides some compelling evidence, that ESPN made this decision in order to protect the viewership of the Baylor – Texas game which aired that same evening on ABC.

If you have been following all of the questionable moves that ESPN has made in order to protect its investment in the Longhorn Network (LHN), then you will enjoy reading what Clay Travis has written.

Tyrann Mathieu: The SI Story and his recent arrest

by Travis Normand

Have you read the article on Tyrann Mathieu that appeared in the 22 October 2012 issue of Sports Illustrated? If not, you can read it online by clicking HERE.

Trials of The Honey Badger

Tyrann Mathieu found overnight fame last year, but its spoils have led to comparisons with his imprisoned father, rehab, exile from the LSU football program and, possibly, NCAA violations.

By Thayer Evans and Pete Thamel
Sports Illustrated, Oct 22, 2012

The premise of the article is that Tyrann Mathieu’s NCAA eligibility could be in question due to some promotional flyers and videos that used Mathieu’s image in order to advertise a club/party.  If Mathieu got paid for the ads, or if he knew about the ads and didn’t do anything about them, their could be a violation of NCAA rule 12.5.2.1.
