Alabama Awards Candidates: QB AJ McCarron, C Barrett Jones, OL Chance Warmack, and OL D.J. Fluker

I just received these via email from the University of Alabama.  Despite the Tide’s loss to Texas A&M this past weekend, Alabama is still loaded with amazing talent and deserves all of the awards that these guys will be picking up this season.

Alabama Awards Candidates: QB AJ McCarron and C Barrett Jones

QB AJ McCarron:

  • Candidate for All-America and All-SEC Honors
  • Candidate for the Heisman Trophy
  • 21-2 as a starter at Alabama with a National Championship
  • Finalist for the 2012 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award
  • One of 15 “Players to Watch” for the Walter Camp National Player of the Year Award
  • Semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and Maxwell Award
  • Ranks seventh nationally & second in the SEC (168.18) in passing efficiency
  • Has a 20-to-2 TD to INT ratio in 2012
  • 20 passing touchdowns are tied for the most in school history
  • Has multiple touchdown passes in six games this season
  • Went 291 pass attempts over the 2011 and 2012 seasons without throwing an interception, the second-longest streak in SEC history

C Barrett Jones:

  • Makes all of the line calls, directing one of the nation’s best offensive fronts
  • Has not allowed a sack in 238 pass attempts
  • Graded out at an average of 89.2 percent in 10 games with seven games at 90 percent or higher
  • Best outings were 95 percent grade at Tennessee and 93 at LSU
  • Missed a team-low six assignments in 578 snaps (99.0%)
  • Started 46 career games with 10 starts at center (2012), 11 at left tackle (2011) and 25 at right guard (2009-10)
  • Anchors the middle of an offensive line that is blocking for 200 yards rushing and 225 yards passing
  • Blocked for five 100-yard rushers this season and 30 in his career

  • Has allowed just four sacks in 238 pass attempts at right tackle
  • Graded out at an average of 89.0 percent in 10 games with six games at 90 percent or better
  • Best outings were a 94 percent grade vs. Texas A&M, 93 percent against Mississippi State and 92 vs. FAU
  • Missed only 10 assignments in 578 snaps (98.3%)
  • Has 26 pancake blocks on the season with a season-best seven at Missouri
  • Has committed just one penalty in 578 snaps
  • Anchors the right side of an offensive line that is averaging 200 yards rushing and 225 yards passing
  • Blocked for five 100-yard rushers this season and 20 in his career

  • Started 36 career games at left guard, including 10 in 2012
  • Clears a path on the left side of the Tide’s offensive line that is blocking for 200 yards rushing and 225 yards passing
  • Blocked for five 100-yard rushers this season and 20 in his career
